Independence CHIP is a state and federaly funded health insurance program. CHIP stands for Children's Heath Insurance Program. If a family makes $1 over Medicaid, they are eligible for CHIP. You can make $100,000 and be eligible for CHIP. CHIP does not have an annual enrollment period. There is no waiting list and coverage is always effective on the first day of the month. CHIP is brought to you by the Keystone Heath Plan East network, which is an HMO. This is a robust network of doctors and hospitals such as CHOP, St. Christopher's and Nemours.
